The aerodynamic efficiency gain can be used to extend range or lower costs, reducing the need for a larger battery, which in turn cuts down on weight, charge time, and battery expenses. The duct is affordable to integrate and manufacture, with its range benefits remaining consistent over time. It enables increased top speed (max), top speed (sustained) and acceleration with a very low risk of component failure, and its advantages increase with higher-speed riding, unlike batteries, which tend to lose efficiency under such conditions.
INNOVATION
To create this truly epoch defining motorcycle innovation was required at every step of the design to realise its full potential. The move to electric enables greater packaging freedoms not currently being exploited, the WMCSRS duct design leveraged all of our innovative know how to execute the optimised solution.
SPECIFICATION
Using the ZERO SR/S as the base model the duct, and front fender aero package, navigate all of the motorcycle’s existing architecture. Producing an electric sports motorcycle with 10% aerodynamic improvement; enhancing range, top speed (max & sustained) and acceleration.
DESIGN
Whilst the duct is a relatively easy concept to understand, incorporating it into an existing motorcycle and extracting as much performance as possible requires a combination of high level engineering and the know how we have built over the last 5 years.
HERITAGE
Born from a deep understanding of the processes and level of detail required to produce a Formula 1 car and previous duct integration projects. The WMCSRS is the latest and potentially most important demonstration of what is possible, using intelligent aero, within a mass market electric sports motorcycle. All designed around the patented V-Duct first introduced in the WMC250EV.
