Announced at the Low Carbon Vehicle Event held at Millbrook Proving Ground in September 2019, White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) was one of 14 winners securing a share of a £2.5 million investment for low carbon development and demonstration projects.

As a company at the cutting edge of electrification and advanced aerodynamics, WMC was successful in receiving grant funding from the Niche Vehicle Network competition which is collectively supported by Innovate UK, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).

Grants have been awarded to UK niche vehicle manufacturers and associated design and engineering companies to undertake R&D of new market low carbon technology proof of concept projects and for UK SMEs and their supply chains to take existing low carbon vehicle technologies from demonstration through to production readiness.

“This grant has been secured in collaboration with RML Group, supporting pioneering battery technology, TotalSIM computer fluid dynamics, and Ace Technologies specialising in lightweight composites. It is thanks to their support which has enabled the manufacture of a proof of concept motorcycle – the WMC250EV,” said Rob White, Founder and CEO of White Motorcycle Concepts.
